It wasn't my most productive year but then I did also start sewing, albeit very slowly, which has slowed down the speed of production somewhat...

I am an Offbeat Bride!
It finally happened. I submitted our wedding to Offbeat Bride and got the shock of my life last night when I wandered over to the site for a looksee and saw a very familiar photo in the sidebar. A tad surreal to say the least, especially as it all seems so long ago!

Real Weddings: Global This two-part wedding had an intimate humanist ceremony followed by amazing seafood at a local restaurant and then a cracking ceilidh for the rest of the guests the next day. Though there were some hiccups with the liquor license, this wild bunch still managed to leave some blood on the dance floor from the "dance of death!" Wild, woolly, and amazing. Would you want it any other way?

It's been a creative 2010!
I may not have blogged much but I certainly have cranked the needles more than I thought which is not bad going in a year in which I got married, changed jobs, took on a new family and still tried to have a life!

The great spinning wheel build of January 2010...!
It was an adventure. There was the odd moment of "that bit goes where...!?" But it is achieved and I'm chuffed!
Now I just need to learn how to spin...and we've set a date as well. Maybe I can spin myself some nice laceweight to make myself a bridal shawl..then again, perhaps not! I'll stick to the professionally done stuff for now...

Puddling aboot...
I've actually managed to finish something this year already...but I did start it on my birthday last year so that means it took me 8 months to knit this...
Next on the list is finishing this - a smocked top turtleneck jumper.
Though if I was feeling really brave I could try knitting this from a booklet I picked up in a charity shop in Blairgowrie today...
But if you thought that was maybe a bit much then I could just go for these elements of the outfit...
On the other hand, I do actually like this and would quite like to attempt knitting it if I was feeling like having a neverending project...
Perhaps I could knit it while making tea with my new non-drip teapot...spot how good someone is doing the dishes in the background. He's a lovely boy and will make someone (me?!) a lovely husband :-)
And finally, it may make life a bit harder but it sure is pretty...
